Principal Holbrook provided the Board with an update on the school's efforts to build a campus where students are excited to learn and belong, highlighting expanded Prop 28 arts programming, including hip-hop dance, instrumental music, vocal music, fine arts, and the school's musical, alongside PTA-supported on-campus experiences such as science assemblies, live animal presentations, and a 75-foot inflatable gray whale. Community events like a spring carnival, family picnics, and a Trunk or Treat, along with new programs such as a school garden, a spirit squad cheerleading team, and an upcoming Egg Drop STEM event with the Huntington Beach Fire Department, have further strengthened campus culture, as reflected in improved attendance and reduced chronic absenteeism. The presentation concluded with a sneak peek performance from the school's production of Newsies.
