School Report - Eader Elementary School

Principal Holbrook provided the Board with an update on the school's efforts to build a campus where students are excited to learn and belong, highlighting expanded Prop 28 arts programming, including hip-hop dance, instrumental music, vocal music, fine arts, and the school's musical, alongside PTA-supported on-campus experiences such as science assemblies, live animal presentations, and a 75-foot inflatable gray whale. Community events like a spring carnival, family picnics, and a Trunk or Treat, along with new programs such as a school garden, a spirit squad cheerleading team, and an upcoming Egg Drop STEM event with the Huntington Beach Fire Department, have further strengthened campus culture, as reflected in improved attendance and reduced chronic absenteeism. The presentation concluded with a sneak peek performance from the school's production of Newsies.

Committed Fund Balance Resolution

The Board adopted Resolution 12-25/26, formally designating committed fund balance within the General Fund for specific purposes in accordance with accounting requirements. The resolution includes an additional 5% savings reserve for economic uncertainties, previously approved by the Board in 2021, as well as other designated allocations. The Superintendent or designee will finalize the exact dollar amounts following the close of the 2025–26 fiscal year, no later than September 8, 2026.

Management and Confidential Employees Compensation

The Board approved an additional 0.5% salary increase for Management and Confidential employees, including the Superintendent and Cabinet, effective July 1, 2025. Earlier this year, the Board approved a 2.0% salary increase for all employee associations, with a contingency for an additional 0.5% tied to updated property tax revenue estimates received in April 2026. Updated projections confirmed sufficient revenue to support the increase, which, per District practice, was extended to Management and Confidential employees at a total ongoing cost of $40,851. The same increases were applied to all classified and certificated employees as part of the 2025–26 bargaining agreements with CSEA and HBETA.
